I used to wake up super excited every day to see what new exciting things were happening in the bitcoin space. Now that a free and vigorous debate is no longer allowed on the most popular discussion platforms, I wake up angry at the people involved with Bitcoin who have turned Bitcoin's open and inclusive ethos upside down. I feel deep amounts of frustration towards those like Theymos who openly promote it, and Greg Maxwell who refuses to speak out against it in any way. It makes me feel embarrassed that people like this are so deeply involved with Bitcoin. In short, not because of the slowness of scaling, but because of the censorship policies, Bitcoin has been transformed from the happiest thing in my life to a large amount of stress and frustration every day.
Recently I publicly asked Greg Maxwell what he thought of blatant censorship like this:
Despite having certainly having noticed the post, that was at the very top of /r/BTC he declined to comment in any way.
I think that says a lot about his character.
I'm just fine with being on the losing side of the scaling debate, but not when it is due to minority opinions being erased from the public discussion platforms.
Greg Maxwell, Theymos, and everyone else who refuses to speak out against this sort of policy should be ashamed of themselves, and the rest of us should publicly shame them.
