PLEASE HELP :'( I sent BCH to an old BTC paper wallet. Recoverable??

Thu Nov 16, 2017 12:11 am

I have recovered BCH from a paper wallet before (using the wallet.btc.com tool>import private WIF key), so I thought that BTC addresses worked for BCH! But after sending some BCH to an old BTC address, now I cannot retrieve my BCH using the same tool I've used before. It only says "no funds", but I can see the funds when I look up the address... I'm so confused and devastated. It is making me sick to my stomach just how much money this could cost me. Please help :'(

My situation is quite different. I'm dealing with a paper wallet with private keys, not a bitcoin.com wallet as those posts refer to :/ The bitcoin cash appears in the wallet, so it should be accessible, correct?

Your Bitcoin Cash was sent to a Bitcoin Cash address that has the same address as the Bitcoin address (two chains, same address). As long as you have the private key for that bitcoin address you can import that bitcoin private key into a Bitcoin Cash wallet and you'll have access to your Bitcoin Cash.

Return to “Bitcoin Cash”
