Re: Why do I need a bitcoin?

Bitcoin is limited to 21M because it's a designed to be a deflationary currency. The hard cap ensures that the inflation rate is set in the code, predictable, and decreased over time until it is no more.

Discussions of money, currency, and inflation need only have two parameters: supply and demand ...

Re: Buy Bitcoin with my local currency

Do you have a bank account? I know you say you can use VISA, but if you have a bank account it appears you can use Uphold. You just can't use a credit card. Another option would be Local Bitcoins. There are 72 cities in which people are offering cash trades for Bitcoin. There are 20 in Luanda alone.

Re: Getting Paid in Bitcoin

If in US still there are no services like these... is time that somebody create them.

The closest we had was billpayforcoins.com. the banks backing them kept shutting them down for being Bitcoin related. Then bills didn't get paid. Then people got understandably upset. Now they're basically ...

I also have a swipe card (BTC debit card) so there is nothing I can think of that is not possible to buy with bitcoins now.

My landlord doesn't take BTC or plastic cards.
My water company doesn't take BTC or plastic cards.
My daughter's tumbling gym doesn't take BTC or plastic cards.

I still ...

Re: Bitcoin Wallet or not ??

I never understood the need to "wash" my Bitcoin. I've never understood the need for a tumbler. Let me first be clear, I'm a proponent for privacy. But I'm not going to risk my Bitcoin going through another service of any kind without some kind of need. There must be some kind of risk I'm trying to ...

Re: Bitcoin Wallet or not ??

The thing to remember is that the Bitcoin isn't *in* your wallet. Bitcoin is only ever on the blockchain out there on the nodes that record Bitcoin transactions. It's not a piece of data that moves from computer to computer. It's not a file or anything that is transferred. What is in your wallet is ...

Re: Bitcoin Wallet or not ??

BitAddress.org gives you the ability to create offline paper wallets. Yes, you can create wallets. Yes you can store Bitcoin in them. But you can't send, receive, spend, or use it in any meaningful way other than storing it. Wallet software like electrum creates those addresses and keys. The ...

Bitcoin equals money. You're basically asking us how to make money. Go out and earn money, just ask for Bitcoin instead of dollars or exchange the dollars you make for Bitcoin. There is no magic, free money in the world.

I don't use Coinpost, but I'm guessing you go to your account at Coinpost, find something that says deposit, scan the QR code with your Circle app, and send.

Incorporating Bitcoin

I've been posting in a couple sections of the forum, mainly Beginners, but it looks like I haven't added myself to the list of services here. Re: How to direct my payment to Circle from Coinbase?

The site you're trying to pay accepts Bitcoin through their Coinbase account. It doesn't matter where the Bitcoin comes from. So you go through the payment process until you get to where they give you a Bitcoin address to send Bitcoin to. You then go to your Circle app and scan the barcode they show ...

Re: How to move Bitcoin Wallets

Yes, there probably is a way. You can export your private keys from one wallet and import them into the other wallet. The Bitcoin will show in both wallets because both know the keys. But if you get rid of the wallet you don't want anymore the one you do want will still know the keys. Bitcoin aren't ...
