Transferring From Coinbase

Fri Mar 09, 2018 1:50 am

How would I transfer BTC from my coinbase wallet to Bitcoin.com wallet? Bitcoin.com is an external wallet right? Off the exchange? I don’t know how to transfer. I don’t want any fees, and coinbase says I can’t transfer it to my email, but both these wallets are set up with my email.

???

Hi Eric,

First, regarding transaction fees. It's not possible to avoid fees.

Second, yes, you'll be moving BTC off your exchange account at Coinbase to a Bitcoin.com wallet which you, and only you, will be in control of.

If you want to send BTC from your Coinbase account to a your Bitcoin.com wallet:

(1) You'll need your BTC address from within your Bitcoin.com wallet.

(2) Open the Bitcoin.com Wallet application and then tap (or click) on the Receive icon on the bottom of the screen. By default you'll then be looking at your BCH (Bitcoin Cash) address. If you tap on that BCH wallet (bottom of screen) you'll then see the option to select your BTC wallet.

(3) Select your BTC wallet. You should now be looking at your BTC address (also in QR code)

(4) Copy that BTC address

(5) Now enter your Coinbase.com account. Just sign into Coinbase and then select "Accounts" at the top of page. You should then see 5 accounts - BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC and USD (or other fiat)

(6) Then click on the Send button for BTC wallet. (If you don't yet have BTC then the send button will be grayed out.)

(7) Then paste in your BTC address (the address that you got from your Bitcoin.com Wallet).

(8) Enter the amount of BTC you'd like to send and then send it.

That's it.

Note: I don't work for Coinbase so I cannot provide you with official support. If any of the foregoing steps are not clear please do not proceed until you have and understanding of what you're doing.
