Verifying a large transaction

Tue Feb 06, 2018 3:47 pm

I will be purchasing a large sum of bitcoin via P2P (outside of an exchange). It's extremely important that I verify the transaction. Is blockchain.info suitable/trustworthy enough to verify such a large transaction? If not, what would you guys recommend? Is there a more direct or effective way to verify the transaction?
Thanks...

Gotta be very careful with that. Yes, through this platform you can easily check the deal. But still with large sums you gotta be careful and pay attention to small things.

Confirm by checking on multiple services. That way you can be sure of your transaction being seen.

It's better to do this using some platform that will control the entire order in order not to be tricked. There're also smart contracts on blockchain now.

Personally i would rather just purchase P2P, why pay exchange fees and have the hassle of verification if you can purchase directly from another person.

On a large transaction, i would not hand the money over until at least the 2nd confirmation is showing on the blockchain.
Blockchain.info is fine to check BTC transactions, although i would prefer to use https://explorer.bitcoin.com

Personally, I'll wait up for the third or fourth confirmation. For a large transaction, I'll rather pay the person the next day until it is 100% confirmed.
