When will bitcoin mining end?

After reading bitcoin.com article that 80 Percent of the Total Bitcoin Supply Have Now Been Mined, i wondered when will bitcoin mining end?

I'll be mining right up until the bitter-sweet end when I switch my rigs on to something else. All messing around aside, if anyone with inside insight has something to say that would be enlightening

As far as I know, in a few years, because mining is getting harder afterall, that's why the last bitcoin will be mined up in about 5 years, I think. And then we'll see.

I'm also wondering what's going to happen when they get all the bitcoins? Of course, the bitcoin net gets the payments from transfers, but these sums are really small and soon many miners are going to stop getting bitcoins.
