Bitcoin cash retrieval

I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post this, so if it isn't please point me in the right direction.....
I was holding my Bitcoin in a Bitcoin core wallet when the fork occurred last summer. About a week after the fork I tried to claim my Bitcoin cash by transferring my private keys to a wallet that supported Bitcoin cash at the time (mycelium I think). To be on the safe side I transferred my Bitcoin to a different wallet before transferring my private keys. I never managed to claim my Bitcoin cash because the private keys just showed an empty wallet.
Now I would like to give it another try and see if there is still a way to claim the Bitcoin cash. Is that still possible?
I still have the old private keys even though the wallet is not installed on my PC at the moment.
