Exodus Fees!!!

Anyone else noticed that the fees to send Bitcoins from your exodus wallet are really high? Example to send .0565 BTC the charge me a fee of .0247!!! WTF?!?!

Is it just exodus?

Are you sure that you are looking at that correctly? That doesn't sound right. Unless you've received a bunch of little incoming BTC transaction you should be paying about .00085 at Exodus to send .0565 BTC.

The transaction fee (send) is based on bytes. When you received lots of small transactions at a bitcoin address and then you send larger amounts from that address the transaction will be larger in bytes.

Moreover, this doesn't just apply to small transactions.

For example,

(A) - You receive 1 BTC once at address A

(B) You receive 0.5 BTC twice (1 BTC total) at address B

Both addresses now have a 1 BTC balance.

However, sending 1 BTC (minus the fee) from address B is going to be about double the bytes because you'll be sending both 0.5 bitcoin pieces.
