bitcoin going to some unknown address? transaction error?

Fri Dec 15, 2017 5:04 am

so today i sent 1,4 bitcoin from my wallet to bittrex. when i open the transaction id in blockchain it says 0.142 bitcoin is going to the bittrex address which i manually have put in and the rest of the amount (1.277 bitcoin)is sent to some another address?

is this normal? Im freaking out a little over here. Its not the first time I transferred bitcoin to my bittrex address..

this is the transaction id: a91d6721921304f11ed17960d3a3d19e3ba75c56fa377b4c6656c04f82906dc7
this is my bittrex address: 1NghDyYewpBYGHUWYFBjjx4HXHk9NqopBs

The 0.142 BTC is the amount that you wanted to send.

The 1.277141 BTC is the change.

An analogy would be taking a $100 bill into a store and buying a Coke for $1.89.

You can't rip the $100 bill into a little pieces to pay the store. So you give the store the $100 and they give you back $98.11.
