Hi if I'm in Australia and buy bitcoin from bitcoin. Com which I presume is in the USA,.. I download the coin address to my wallet on my device in Australia, can I easily sell then on an Australian exchange??

This really just depends if you buy BTC or BCH. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is not yet supported by some exchanges, though BTC is supported almost everywhere.

If you intend to buy from https://buy.bitcoin.com/ then the site says that you'll be getting BTC, which should be supported by any Australian exchange.
