How Close was I to Disaster? BC Androiod Wallet

Wed Dec 13, 2017 11:58 pm

On my BC wallet I have both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. I wanted to send that last of my bitcoins to a business where I could convert them to cash. So I placed their bitcoin address in send address And hit all funds. Then sent them. But I didn't notice that my wallet was set to BCH wallet. So I was sending BCH coins to a BTC account. I didn't lose my coins but the transaction was recorded as Moved

How close was I to disaster?

Could this be seen as a bad interface design in the Android wallet?

Thank You..

Hi possum,

You'll have to contact the company that you sent your BCH to. You'll need to ask them about their cross chain recovery policy (the private keys are the same on both chains).

What has happened is that you've sent your BCH to a BCH address which is identical to the BTC address that you sent to.

You may search the address that you sent to by using this BCH explorer: https://explorer.bitcoin.com/bch
