Looking at different sites: Coindesk, Coinbase, Bitcoin/Charts, and even Google. All have close, but different values for Bitcoin.

Which is more reliable? Or does it even work like that?

I made a small investment to play with, and values are all over the place.

There is not one price. Every market has its own price and some markets can much apart depending on various factors.

You can choose the market that you would use to exchange your bitcoins as that is the rate you would get should you buy or sell them.

I have also invested in Bitcoin, it is really difficult for me to choose which website is showing the right Bitcoin price. But now I am not based on one news website.
