hello, first post and a lot of re-asked questions

Hello everyone. I am new to this. I have three S9 antminers and I am trying to set them up on slushpool

I have a mac, that I am using to run things.

I have my first unit set up on shushpool URL on my antminer: stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333

I got the antminer on the network and running. I have inputted my slushpool username.worker name on the antminer.

i have set up the worker name on slushpool. I have also set up port forwarding on port 3333 on my computer. Ping utility comes back fine on antminer interface

I have installed cgminer and dumped the same url as above. I have also inputted my slushpool password on the cgminer. I don't, however, think I need this. My miners are stand alone and are not connected to my computer. Seems like I only need to configure the s9 and set up the wallet. please confirm.

My s9 does not show up with the green checkmark on the slushpool interface. I do seem so see some data being transmitted, but I am not sure on that.

I am sure that I am missing something really stupid.

I think my basic understanding of how the three elements interact is very fuzzy . I know that I need cgminer, but I am not sure why. I have synced bitcoin core wallet and inputted the address to slushpool.

ahhhhhh so many elements to juggle.

You don't need to port forward anything. Port forwarding is for packets for a listening socket, such as a server.
Cgminer is installed on antminer. No need for you to even mess with it. Just go under miner configuration and set the URL, worker username and pass. Check with pool. Just make sure you do it properly.
