What should I mine with this server?

Sat Nov 18, 2017 11:13 pm

Hi all,

I’m a newbie in terms of mining and I have 1 dedicated server hosted in a datacenter that I no longer need, but my contract still has 1 year to end. So, I wanted to see if I can make some money with this server by mining some currency.

I know it’s a very low-end server, with no dedicated GPU so I don’t expect much. I leave the hardware specifications bellow and I really appreciate if someone can advise me on what are the best mining options:

Model: Model: DELL PowerEdge R210
CPU: Intel Core i3-530
RAM: 8GB
Hard Drive(s): 2 x 1000GB SATA HW RAID
Bandwidth: Unltd @ 1Gbps

Any advice in terms of currency to mine or software / pool to use?

Thanks

Hi cryptoblock,

I don't know exactly what to tell you about that.

However, have you ever considered cloud mining? You wouldn't need any hardware and you wouldn't need to do any other work. You'd purchase a cloud mining contract and then we do all the work after that and you receive daily returns on your investment.

Please take a look at: https://poolsupport.bitcoin.com/article ... t-started-

You may purchase a cloud mining contract here: https://pool.bitcoin.com/index_en.html#buyhashrate

You may adjust the slider bar below each plan to view initial cost and other information including daily revenue and daily fee.

Thanks for the advise but Im no interested in cloud mining. This servr is already paid for next year so electricity cost is zero.

Any other advice?

Thanks
