His slideshow is entitled "Bitcoin is not splitting in two, it is upgrading" and this is exactly right. Bitcoin is having an election, and will result in an upgrade with new features (if accepted), or it will stay as it is now (if rejected). There is nothing to worry about this process, it may even be one of bitcoin's greatest features.

Don't get put down by all the scaremongering on the various forums and twitter feeds. Bitcoin is alive and well, and doing exactly what it is designed to do. Just let it do it's thing, and do your part in promoting whatever you stand for and implementing the technology for the network to be able to switch.
