extracting bitcoin cash from bitcoin

Thu Nov 02, 2017 9:11 am

I'm sure this must have been asked before, but I can't find quite what I need to know, so sorry if this is a bit groundhog.

I have an old (pre-fork) bitcoin in a wallet on my computer. I would like to realise the 'bitcoin cash' it now represents and need to know the correct procedure and software/wallet I need to use. The wallet the coin is in at the moment is no longer supported by its designer but it still works.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

Regards, Mercian
