Old wallet

Hi, I have a older wallet and I am having problems with transactions. Some wallet addresses accept small amounts of btc and others don't accept any. Having lots of transactions unconfirmed by the network. Had same problem with my old litecoin wallet until I installed a newer version but lost coins and had a nightmare finding them as I'm not that technically advanced. Some help1 would be very appreciated
