TheMerkle - Walmart Pay Leaves Door Open For DIfferent Mobile Wallet Integration – A Chance For Bitcoin?

Thu Dec 10, 2015 9:03 pm

Mobile payment solutions all over the world are competing to gain a foothold in the industry. Unfortunately for the end consumer, this is such a fractured landscape, and it will take a while until a platform comes along most people can use for everyday purchases. Whether or not that solution will be Walmart Pay, remains to be seen. All this competition does is showcase Bitcoin’s strengths as a universal payment method.

Wallmart could save so much money if they tried to drive bitcoin adoption.

The only problem I can see is bitcoin liquidity is still not that good and might not be able to support a big company like Wallmart or Amazon using it as it's primary payment channel.

All those big companies could use BitPay payment services. They receive in bitcoin and convert to fiat (USD) instantly so there is no risk for the company receiving the payment.
