Your "good and righteous nodes vs. evil and corrupt miners" black and white world is exactly what's sabotaging Bitcoin. There are good and evil players on both sides and we need to depend on the game evolving to keep them honest, not locking it down instead. Too bad you can't understand that due to your own confirmation bias.
