Meh, any currency such as USD can be abused by criminals. This should be common sense to outsiders but for some reason it's easier to think "bitcoin bad" then "people are bad" lolAnd this is the reason that Bitcoin has such a bad vibe to it to those who don't understand cryptocurrenies...
I agree that it's very common to have the "bitcoin bad" easier than "people are bad" opinion, and it seems to me like this is largely the fault of big companies and news outlets.Meh, any currency such as USD can be abused by criminals. Unfortunately privacy has been another casualty of the block size civil war going on for years now. We need wallets, exchanges, apps, and even the base protocol to adopt better privacy. User behavior is partly to blame, because if you have bad opsec then even the best wallet and base protocol may not help stupidity. But I believe it's Bitcoin's role to at least make it easier for the not-privacy-conscious to use Bitcoin without being able to be tracked and probed by governments.
There is an old saying that goes something like "most things in life that are worth anything aren't easy." I think this quote fits well right now. Maybe one day we'll have a perfect coin; until then we as users have to work to make sure our privacy is not being breached.I agree that it's very common to have the "bitcoin bad" easier than "people are bad" opinion, and it seems to me like this is largely the fault of big companies and news outlets.Meh, any currency such as USD can be abused by criminals. In a perfect world, everyone would switch from using Bitcoin, to "the perfect coin", that would include all the features such as privacy (like Zero-Knowledge Proof, or Ring-Signature coins), a "perfect solution" to the blocksize problem, and an infinite world of possibilities like contracts/etc.
However, a perfect world like this cannot exist when it is being prevented by those who want a "perfect life" for themselves instead of a "perfect world" for everyone else.
