dApps vs. hApps

Tue Oct 27, 2020 3:13 am

dApps are seriously stalling right now due to the high transaction fees/slow speed, and very few are in use except for DEXs like Uniswap. Some projects like Sentivate are developing hApps as an alternative, which use a hybrid of centralized and decentralized processes to help solve this issue. What is your opinion on these? Is the addition of some centralization necessary to make these applications go mainstream? Here is an article that talks about the differences, btw: https://bitcolumnist.com/guides/dapps-vs-happs/

If we consider the growth of blockchain technology in recent years, the possibility of DApps overcoming its limitations is also high. Moreover, with growing competition among the emerging companies in the blockchain field, space is expected to grow the skies.
DApps are considered to be the next revolution in the blockchain sector. However, the new inventions can possibly nullify the limitations the DApp carries at present.

This might be a dumb question but this is different from Holochain, right? (Holochain apps are also abbreviated hApps)
DApps certainly would have to overcome a few obstacles to be viable long term. Still, they are very popular, a big hype would be needed to overtake it probably.
