Signature Advertisers.

Sun Sep 18, 2016 8:47 am

forum.bitcoin.com Signature Advertising We have decided to let our members here rent out the signature space on their profiles to earn a little extra bitcoin while posting.

This forum has not run these campaigns before so if any reputable companies are looking for a cheap and effective way to advertise their business this is your time to get in early.

Interested parties should contact myself via PM to discuss the terms, once a deal is finalised you will be free to create a thread and advertise on the forum.

We have a old time bitcoin community member and trusted escrow provider to act as a campaign manager and restrict the spam that can sometimes be created with such advertising campaigns, he can post here when he wants to go public or I'm sure will create his own management thread too once we have a few companies on board.

Companies can pick their own campaign managers but all campaigns must abide by the rules of the forum.
All signature campaigns run on the forum must be organised within their own thread on this forum.

Limited campaigns will be run at any one time so those that wish to advertise would be advised to get in quick for the first round of forum.bitcoin.com signature advertising campaigns.

Regards: bitkilo.

Are you advertising your help?

All the mods we have should be checking in daily to delete spam but some don't, luckily we do have a couple of mods that do this.
Signature spam will be monitored by the campaign managers.

I'm sorry I didn't quite get you. Is it because I used bold on my last phrases? or are you talking about my sigs? lol

Yea I can see that. But maybe a bit more would help; before you implement the 50post count solution.

Oh, so who is this trusted old timer who will run the campaigns and keep a check on spam.
I've already spotted farmed accounts on the first campaign. No manager from bitcointalk is trusted are they?

Not 1 has posted in my farmer thread there. Nor replied to other posts of mine on the subject there. No attempt has been made by the managers to stop using farmed accounts in their sig campaigns. (now why would that be?)

Please tell me it is not a bitcointalk signature manager!

No the manager has never run a signature campaign at bitcointalk that i know of, the manager we have is OgNasty.
Please remember that this is still only the first week of the campaign, no payouts have been made yet and that's when the first round of trimming begins, any members who are using alts in the campaign or are only posting one liners and spam hopefully will be removed by next round.

I think it is fair to say that there has been a large number of users registering lately for several reasons.

Firstly - I will not try and lie to you, people are attracted to getting paid for posting the stuff they usually would.. Who isn't?

Secondly - I am a physical bitcoin trader, and there are only so many places to advertise your goods online where they will be viewed by a lot of other potential users to trade with. I sell and buy coins on another forum - why not here? I am new here, but I am known on this other forum. I will be starting up a thread soon.. If you are into physical bitcoins, or just want to know more about them, feel free to have a look :)

Back to the issue at hand.. Granted, there are going to be users in signature campaigns that provide useless posts, and spam as well. I am quite sure that OgNasty will be reviewing each participant every week, and kicking members that are not providing quality posts/being useful to the community.

You are quite right - we very well may need more moderators at some point to help control spam. This not a big issue yet (or is it?), and I am fairly sure that the appropriate people are keeping an eye on things.

Thanks

Hello everyone, I think there are several ways to control spammers and alt accounts in the forum. Here are my suggestions:

1. Implement 1 or 2 account per IP Address (if two he/she will need to present social media accounts for about a year or so for verification)
2. Screening of applicants (just what Ognasty and bitkilo are doing)
3. Developers/Owners should need campaign managers specially signature campaign manager that would help in locating spam posts and report it to moderators for deletion.

Hope this would help. If you need Signature Campaign Manager then I would like to present my self ;) I am online 3hrs + a day

I agree with this ways but it should be more strict implementing on 1 account per IP address which is enough to stop alt accounts and farming.
Screening on applicants are just normal for a good signature campaign manager.
And how would you happen to know that more than 1 account can be signed up per IP address, signed up a few times ;)

I think here in forum the administrator would know every IP of those who registers. If users IP address change from one to another that means he/she is using proxy so that means he could be one that is likely to be an alt account. Also, if 2 accounts here have same IP then most likely it is also an alt account . Im not that techy but I read this from other forums as well. Correct me if im wrong then.. :)

You are correct in saying that some member could use a proxy server to get around an IP block, we can't discriminate against members who choose to use that method but it will make our job harder.
Some users may also have a good reason for having 2 accounts signed up from the same IP address, like in cases where the IP address belongs to a workplace or family home and more than 1 person there wants to be a members

We will not be actively looking for members with alt accounts unless this is bought to our attention by other members here.

Yes that is true, that is why I said that to implement 1 or 2 accounts per IP address (depends upon the consensus) provided they should send their social media accounts for verification. 3+ accounts is really questionable IMHO.
