I may have made a $2,000 mistake. Please help!

Thu Sep 14, 2017 10:28 pm

I just purchased $2000 worth of BTC on Coinbase and it looks like it got sent to another wallet by accident. I have no idea how it happened. Is there any way to trace this and get my coins back? Here is the output 0.55739786 BTC from 15NZfCQkEcDiHZwqgF9XBo63vVoyrqgYBW. I'd appreciate any help.

You can't get your coins back, if you don't own the privat key which is associated with the receipt address, where did you get this address 15NZfCQkEcDiHZwqgF9XBo63vVoyrqgYBW ?

not possible to get it , thats why some of country (my country malaysia already banned ) banned. But still not let me down to keep invest in cryptocurrencies. You just need to maybe 3 triple comfirm to recheck any address you send...it will solve if you add the address as your favourite, other than that is high risk..so look carefully...

Don't worry. If you purchased the BTC from Coinbase there is no way that it got sent to another wallet.

Contact support at Coinbase. Probably some issue they are having at their site today.

I had a problem about 2 weeks ago at Coinbase. Problem fixed in the less than 12 hours.

Thanks Nandibear, that's right Coinbase support team are the only ones that can help you understand what went wrong. If it was something like an address mix up or mistake at their end then i am sure that they will reimburse you, that have much more at stake than a couple of thousand.

You may also want to run a scan on your computer for malware or key-loggers, there are knows malware bugs that will change a bitcoin address as you copy and paste it so you always want to double and triple check the sending or in this case the receiving address before confirming.

Hope all works out for you, please keep us updated.
