First of what do you mean "why is this here" you posted it in wallets didn't you? If you thought it belonged in altcoins maybe you shoukd have posted it there.

Some would say the opposite so who's right?

I don't like taking sides and as a mod do try to remain neutral but it is definitely open for discussion.

Some say the because bitcoin cash is now the closet coin to the original white paper that it should be bitcoin and BTC the alt since they added SegWit but i am not too sure i follow this thinking completely. Who cares what's the alt, it's only the bitcoin name that has the first mover advantage anymore.
Litecoin is alreay an altcoin but when they added SW it didn't become a new altcoin.

To get a good conversation started about this we need a Bitcoin Cash dev or someone who has studied this more and can offer their view.

I disagree, Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of the Original Chain. You can call it what you want, but it is certainly not an altcoin based purely on that fact. Your attempts at creating condescension have failed.

Hello argon2, I'm sure when satoshi codes bitcoin he makes hundreds changes to protocol he create different blockchains until he implemented bitcoin, so my question is if satoshi in 5-10-15 years release one of those implementations where was made after bitcoin you will call bitcoin an altcoin ?? if for someone the bitcoin cash is altcoin for satoshi bitcoin is an altcoin, bitcoin cash at this time follow the satoshi vision, in a bitcointalk post satoshi make a hard fork in order to increase the block-size with 5 lines of code, so bitcoin cash has implemented satoshi words, this forum acts democratically when they are people's who support bitcoin cash and satoshi vision bitcoin cash discussion will be on bitcoin section simple this this forum not acts like bitcointalk forum and that makes it unique.. sorry but we are uncensored

I totally disagree. Bitcoin Cash is closer to Satoshi's vision, has low fees and fast confirmations. It is here to stay!

For what it is worth, Bitcoin.com is building all of our new product on top of Bitcoin Cash.
All of our existing products will follow the Segwit2X chain.

Time will tell which one is actually the alt coin.
