BTC-E , Governments , World Where is our money?

I lost 25K USD because BTC-E become illegal suddenly.

Why you didn't tell us that previously? Why you allowed this if it's wrongful?

Since 2011 and the website works fine and everyone says it's legal now it's become illegal suddenly?

As a user how can I realize that? How to know that?

Stopping a website doesn't need 7 Years. You can send a request to ICANN and they will stop it.

Why you let us go this deep?

How to know that Facebook , PayPal or Google are not illegal?

Yes, the BTC-e shutdown is very worrying. The BTC network is strong, but gov't overreach trying to stop it will only get worse.

So sorry about your loss mate! That is a huge amount of money to loose in 1 day. Keeping such a huge amount in an exchange was actually a bad move, no matter how reputable such exchange is over the years. As long as you do not have your private keys, then any shit can happen which was exactly what just happened with BTC-E. I really hope the users can be allowed to have access to their funds.

Money is gone gents. BTC-E was full of dirty money. The feds have taken it now.

Sadly, those of you who think its wise to leave your money in any type of exchange are sure to lose.
B T C - E has been taken down for money laundering. They caught the owner in Greece and was flown to America for trial. Any money in the exchange that has been moved into wallets off site are now gone forever. The money that was left on the site's wallets is now in the US Federal Govt's hands and they will more than likely not use it for anything besides evidence against B T C - E's owner. After that, it's locked away for life. Sorry for your loss.

The 15th of september btc-e will start to refund their avaiable funds ( currently they have enough to refund about 55%), the remaining amount will be paid with debt tokens like bitfinex did after their hack. Those tockens are expected to be paid in some years with profits from their new exchange (which will be opened the 15th). Follow the news on their twitter and in their temporal web: btc-e.nz
