Territory Not Supported (U.S.)

Thu Aug 31, 2017 7:40 pm

Just signed up for bitcoin, have official wallet. When I click the 'Buy' button I am directed to the following page:

Territory not Supported
We are sorry, but credit card payments are not yet supported within your territory.

Please visit us again soon as we are regularly adding support for more countries and states.

In the meantime, you can click here to find a list of Exchanges from which you can purchase Bitcoin using other payment methods.

I live in the United States (Washington State), and have not entered any CC info yet or anything like that, just downloaded the wallet for Chrome. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I believe you may be out of luck. Lots of Bitcoin companies have been leaving Washington state due to new regulations around collecting buyers' and sellers' personal info. Buying Bitcoin while in Washington state will likely be disabled by many exchanges and wallets while those regulations are enforced.

Unfortunately thins means you will be required to use less-reputable means to buy your Bitcoin. :(

I heard US persons have been getting similar alerts for quite a few ICOs as well.
