If you made this purchase via buy.bitcoin.com then you will have to take the matter up with Simplex, they are the company you would have purchased from and are the only ones that can help you.

Hey Bitkilo, they may not be the "only ones" who could help.
It is very possible "tuarus 1230" simply has an unsynced wallet or something. If so, and maybe being a newbie, tuarus panicked first. Possibly a quick check of tuarus's addy on a blockchain explorer would confirm the safe arrival of the purchased bitcoin?
Or not.

Hey rizz good point, his address does show as empty and could just need to re sync it with the network although to try save the user time i always advise they speak with Simplex first as we can't check that the information they are giving us is correct.

If you let us know the name of the Bitcoin wallet software you are using we may be able to offer further advice.

For instance, if you are using a full Bitcoin client such as Bitcoin Core it will need to download the entire Bitcoin blockchain in order to function properly. You can read more about it here. To explain it quickly to you, the majority of users use 'lite' clients such as our own Bitcoin.com wallet, Electrum or Copay.

As I mentioned above, for all intents and purposes full Bitcoin clients (like Bitcoin Core) require you to download the entire Bitcoin blockchain before you can use them for sending and receiving bitcoin transactions. This is because Bitcoin transactions are stored in blocks (which are themselves stored in the blockchain), and clients like Bitcoin Core will not be able to read those blocks until they download those blocks to your computer.

'Lite' or 'thin' wallets work differently in that they do not need to download the entire Bitcoin blockchain; rather they store a tiny part of it and query the rest of the blockchain remotely. This means that they do not need to download any blocks before being able to see your transactions - they can see them all immediately.

If you used a Bitcoin address generated by your Bitcoin Core wallet to receive a payment you will need to wait until Bitcoin Core fully synchronises up to the block that your transaction is contained in before you will be able to see that payment in your wallet. If you check your receiving Bitcoin address on Blockchain.info and you payment appears there but does not appear in your Bitcoin wallet, it is in your wallet but it's just not visible yet. You will need to leave the Bitcoin Core client running on your computer to allow it to synchronise the blockchain. Please note that this will take up quite a bit of space on your computer's hard drive and will take a long time to sync, anywhere from 1 - 2 days to a week or more.

Please note that if you continue using the Bitcoin Core wallet you will need to ensure it is kept up to date by running it regularly. I would strongly advise downloading a 'lite' wallet and using that instead. You will be able to send your funds to the lite wallet once the blockchain is fully downloaded to your computer and up to date.

For future transactions please use a 'lite' wallet like one of the wallets I linked above. This way your transactions will appear instantly.

The above assumes, of course, that you are using a full client. If you are using a different Bitcoin wallet please let us know and we'll see what we can do to help.
