How to get BCH

Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:10 am

I was told that at the time of the fork, having my private keys to my BTC wallet would be enough to allow me to later gain the BCH. So, I have the private keys from a wallet (Jaxx.io) where it is uncertain if or when they will integrate BCH...they say they will, but are tip-lipped when or if that will occur. So, I would like to trade on my BCH, but unless I can get access to it, that is not possible. I was also told that I would be free to trade/sell/use my BTC after the fork and that my BCH would still exist as long as I hold the private keys as as of the time of the fork, the two cryptos are separate and distinct.

So, can anyone suggest to me where to turn that will give me the opportunity to access/get my BCH? And what the procedure would be to use the private keys.

http://www.electroncash.org/

import your private key (12 word recovery phrase)

in that wallet. you should be able to see your BCC.

this will only work if you had your funds in that jaxx wallet BEFORE aug 1st, and never moved it.

I was told that once the fork occurred, it didn't matter any longer if I moved/sold/used the BTC since it was no longer "connected" to the BCH/BCC. How can a company, like Jaxx, hold your funds/coins hostage for an indefinite time. Where do the BCH go, who has them, if my BTC were moved, say a week or two AFTER the fork.

I asked about the issue of moving the coins AFTER the fork and was told by several people that is wouldn't matter if I moved them since once the fork occurred, they two coins were on different blockchains.

Do I understand correctly that if you have BTC at point of fork and even if you spend it afterwards you will always still be able to claim your BCH if you do have the private key?
