Today, Blockchain is announcing the beta release of our Receive Payments API V2. We will be writing a full work up soon, but anyone interested in giving it a try can do so now. Read this on the Blockchain blog: http://blog.blockchain.com/2015/11/16/a ... ments-api/

What do you need to know?

To begin with, you’ll need to have a BIP 32 account xPub. You can use any HD wallet or give our alpha wallet a go, and after creating your new wallet, follow the steps below:

Create a new account inside the wallet exclusively for the API and show the xPub
Request an API key for this API here
Use your xPub, API key, and your callback URL to create payment requests

What if I need assistance?

Our support documentation can guide you through all of the details. If you still need help, you are more than welcome to contact our developer support at blockchain.zendesk.com.

Very nice guys! I'm excited to try out V2 of the receive payments API. I like the integration with HD pubkeys, it will make a merchant's transactions a lot more private than the previous version that always forwarded to the same address. I've put in my request for an API key.

So for those how have not tried it out yet, the main difference with the new version is that there is no forwarding of funds! Thanks to the use of the HD keys, they can just provide one of your deterministic addresses to receive the payment so there's no need to forward funds. The address is still unique so you can track payments but the funds will already be going to one of your addresses that you own. Also callbacks are sent nearly instantly. I really like it, a nice improvement to the previous model.
