60 Minutes on M-Pesa

If you didn't get a chance to catch this piece on 60 minutes last night, here it is. Fantastic insight on what was essentially a prelude to Bitcoin. What I found interesting was the reluctance to mention Bitcoin, although Apple Pay was mentioned and Lesley went as far as saying that such a system (mobile phone money transfer) such as M-Pesa does not exist in the USA without a bank account or credit card. I'm sure the Kenyan mobile company making 250M from it's customers using M-Pesa per year didn't want to mention Bitcoin either. None the less, proof of empowerment and great for Bitcoin. Great story! It's a wonderful primer for people to learn about digital currency. It's too bad that bitcoin didn't get a mention but it's stories like these that help spread the understanding on how digital currency has many benefits all over the world.
