Segwit locks in on the legacy chain

Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:23 pm

Just a short while ago, Segwit reached 95% consensus on the legacy Bitcoin chain within the latest 2016 block period to officially lock in. Now we wait to see the code actually implemented and whether or not the 2x part will follow.

I'm rather disappointed that our resident troll hasn't yet created a new account to crow about this success and how the "bcash" chain is doomed.

Does anyone know of any sites where we can place bets on whether the 2X part will actually happen?
It would be interesting to see what people are willing to risk real money on.

The only one I know of is: https://bitbet.us/
But I wouldn't trust them with my own money.

What about Fairlay?

Their most active board here on our forum:

We know they're reputable :) and there are already 2 open bets related to Segwit2X:

In an interesting development, as soon as Segwit2x locked in, the ViaBTC pool stopped signalling for it.

I'm kind of hyped up for Lightning Network to be honest.
We don't need no centralisation. ImageImageImage
