Cloud mining on Azure n-series cloud servers

Tue Jul 25, 2017 10:45 am

Hello,

I have an Azure account with $4500 on credits.

I want to know if anyone here has yet tried to mine with the new Microsoft Azure n-series cloud servers which are GPU servers running with nvidia gpu cards.
If so, how was the outcome? I want to know if it was possible and profitable.

Thanks

Hi,

In short, don't do it, if you want it to be profitable. There was a fun experiment with 256GB RAM and 64 Xeon cores on an AWS EC2 that would have cost $500 for two weeks and netted a miserable 0.1 Litecoins, if it was being used only for mining.

You won't be able to do much, if anything, with CPU/GPU mining since BTC mining pools will lock you out. You could go solo but the probability of mining a block approaches zero.

All the best :)

If this was free money, why would Azure not do it themselves?
We don't need no centralisation. ImageImageImage
