Bitcoin Cash Mining

Mon Jul 31, 2017 7:39 pm

Hey everyone,

At this point in time mining Bitcoin (core) has reached such high difficulties that unless you are willing to shell out some large amounts of money (and keep shelling out), it's not worth it to mine. My question is, with Bitcoin (cash) will the difficulty be the same, or will it be easier for low-budget miners to have access to the scene and mine some BCC?

I think we will find that the difficulty is much lower due to the fact that there will be much smaller amount of hash on the network. I intend to move all of my hash power to BCC to take advantage of the ability to mine more coins.

Have my hash power pointed at BCC, just waiting for the developers to add GUI to see hashpower and all other data for the BCC mineing...
If Bitcoin.com have some new related information on updates to mineing page it would be appriciated...

You are doing an amazing job with the bitcoin.com space...

I gladly added my pool.bitcoin.com cloud hashpower to BCH to help start the chain, but I've pulled my hashpower off BCH for now. I'll likely return to mining after block #478582.

Right now we're still working with the difficulty of the old Bitcoin chain so block times are extremely long. This makes mining the chain very unprofitable for everyone: cloud miners, ViaBTC, etc. Because of this, the big miners have taken hashpower off the network and are only keeping the pulse going for now.

However, the developers of Bitcoin Cash included a means for the chain to eventually lower difficulty and this will start taking effect at block #478577. For this block and each of the next five blocks, the Bitcoin Cash difficulty will decrease by 20%. After these six blocks, the final difficulty will be only 26% or so of what it was, meaning miners will be able to mine blocks in about 1/4 the time! Look for hashpower to start flooding back at this point as mining the chain will become profitable again.

copy pasting my response from earlier for visibility.

guys, regarding the 2016 block adjustment,

it is set to occur on bitcoin on block 479808. an estimated 16-18 days away.

I encourage you guys to mine on BCC so that we may reach the difficulty adjustment sooner.

our mining pool makes up less than 4% of the block rewards, and I think that is a result of people being hesitant to switch.

Here is a great article if you're still kind of confused on the whole bitcoin cash thing

Yes, yes, yes! BitcoinCash needs more miners!
We don't need no centralisation. ImageImageImage
