Belt & Road to aeternity
aeternity was appointed to the RATA (Research and Technical Advisory) of the 'Belt & Road Blockchain Consortium'. The Consortium emerged from research done in 2013 on 'bridging the infrastructure gap' initiative in Asian regions. One of the primary conclusions of the report was that billions of US dollars will be necessary for the construction of new infrastructure able to connect and coordinate economic efforts between Eurasia and China.

The Belt and Road initiative is composed of two primary branches:
- SREB -?Silk Road Economic Belt (continental trade routes).
- MSR?-?Maritime Silk Road (maritime trade routes).

It encompasses six corridors spanning Asia, as well as parts of the Pacific, North Africa and Europe.

Aeternity Campaign Aftermath

Dear aeternity crypto community,

It has been both exciting and stressful weeks since the aeternity campaign ended. A lot of work has been done to make aeternity a reality and the best is yet to come.

Scaling an organization is tricky. Most startups fail because of this reason. It is easy to coordinate when you have 5 people on the team, but a group-size above 10 easily becomes chaotic. By all means, aeternity has been very efficient in handling operations so far. Scaling these operations and restructuring the team has been quite difficult during the past weeks. On a good note, the tech team is growing well and once we have thoroughly tested the new setup, we will announce the new hires.

Blockchain Tech Must be “Open-Software”

Public blockchains are defining a new era in free/libre, open-source software development.

Did you know there is a difference between “free software” and “open-source software”? Turns out that just like in the case of public and private blockchains, when it comes to producing “free” or “open” software (think of “free speech,” not “free beer”)(1), there are camps who each support differing philosophies. The worldview “fork” in this case is caused by the definition of a fundamental concept and many will argue basic human right - freedom.

Ouch, sorry for your lost funds aeternity!

Why did you have to keep everything in a single multi-sig wallet!?
We don't need no centralisation. ImageImageImage

Parity Multisig Wallet Hack
Update on the Parity 1.5 (or later) vulnerability exploit.

Due to a zero day exploit in Parity 1.5 or later, funds were moved out of a number of ETH multisig wallets without any authorization by unknown perpetrator(s).

aeternity was using a parity “enhanced” multi-signature wallet on the latest parity update. Many projects in the space have used the same practice and have been affected as well.

As far as we know three project multi-sig wallets have been affected by the black hat attack:
