At the Future of Bitcoin in Arnhem, the alleged Satoshi, Craig Wright, held a furious talk, which was interrupted by emergent eruptions of applause. During his speech, he reignited the block size debate by attacking Core and announced that he would actively fight SegWit. He promised to soon launch a mining pool, with at least 20 percent of the network’s hashrate, which will not confirm SegWit transactions. So SegWit transactions will be slower than legacy transactions...

I wasn't impressed. And I was expecting to be impressed. Ferocious is the last word I use to explain Criag's talk. And the shifts from gold to Bitcoin aren't correlated to Craig's speech, they're correlated to the incredible price appreciation we've seen in 2017. Full stop.

Someone delivering a speech that was billed by others as a manifesto of the future should be able to convey that message - the objectives, the future vision, the call to action, and the urgency - with greater concision and charisma. (Not to mention someone claiming to be Satoshi!)

No joking here. Craig's talk disappointed me, in fact I felt he contradicted his views several times. I can listen through it again and offer specific examples...I realize that would be appropriate if I'm going to be critical.

Roger, I first learned of Craig's talk while listening to you speak of it on the LTB Network podcast that occurred days after. I thought your articulation of the future vision for bitcoin, the inherent risks of Segwit, and general summary of Craig's comments were more impactful and succinct.

Here's a link to Roger's comments on the podcast: https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/t ... oin-speech

And it's clear Craig is not Satoshi, and if he's one of "team Satoshi" he was not a key contributor in the technology. If he was he'd be able to more clearly (and easily) articulate why a cap on transaction size was established to begin with and why the need to expand was always an eventuality, a bridge that would need to be crossed in the future.

This sounds unnecessarily hostile. Even if it's the right thing to do, these kinds of threats aren't the way to bring the community together. It just further entrenches both sides.
