According to my observation, most people do not know about Bitcoin. only those who love technology as we know and love it. If we want to develop further Bitcoin, we should bring technology closer to people's lives better. That is the best way to grow Bitcoin.

Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens?
Ofcourse. That's what most newbie-friendly wallets are for. Copay, breadwallet, and the like.

Thought at first they might ask questions about the transaction fees and transaction times.

When you think about it, we are all just ordinary citizens. :) Even the richest, most politically connected people have no more right to transact in BTC than you do.

Ordinary citizens make the world go 'round!

Haha, why not? Only our wishes and knowledge limit us in using BTC.
But we are all "ordinary" people, who basically use BTC. :D

For Bitcoin to be adopted by normies it needs a killer app that makes it really, really simple and really safe to use.

Ordinary people right now do not really get bitcoin or cryptocurrencies for that matter.

Personally I think Coinbase is simple enough for moderately tech-savvy people. Definitely not simple enough for most of the older crowd though.

Bitcoins can be used globally. As long as you have a crypto-debit card you will have access to your crypto balance and can spend it wherever visa/mastercard is accepted.

There are no limitations.

As a fellow Bitcoin forumer and enthusiast, anyone can use Bitcoin. One can start off by opening a Blockchain Bitcoin Wallet to get the feel. Then, register on available paying faucets for free bitcoins. Join a bitcoin cloud mining pool and pay for the hashrate. Those are just mere examples.

As a practising global/international technology lawyer, I've just published a book on Bitcoin (BTC) for "ORDINARY CITIZENS" just like us.

I apologize for not being on in here for quite some time. Apparently, the last time I was in the forum was in February 24th. 2017 :

Anyway, here's the link to my published book. Rejoice fellow Bitcoin Forumers!

On August 17th. 2017 at 8.26 p.m., I had assiduously calculated that BTC will have steadily risen to the USD$5000 mark within a month or two. BTC/XBT is retesting resistance at this very moment. When proven accurate, I shall henceforth be known as Hajime Itsumo Tadashī (HIT, the HIT-man) within the Bitcoin community and shall publish my Second/2nd book in the Bitcoin Series thereafter!.

I think one thing you might mean when saying "ordinary citizens" is for people to be able to use Bitcoin without having to learn too much about how the technology works. For this, I'd say that crypto Debit Cards are probably what you're after. These come using either VISA or Mastercard (choose your preference). You will be able to use these like any other debit card that you have i.e. in the store, restaurant etc.

Examples for these cards are TenX, Monaco and TokenCard.
