In the previous article about Bitcoin price trends at Coinidol.com, the experts have predicted that the price of Bitcoin could hit $3,000 by the end of December 2017. However, it’s June now and last week the Bitcoin price has already reached $3,000.

We contacted dozens of leading world experts in the field of cryptocurrency, among which are top managers of Global Advisors Bitcoin Investment Fund PLC, Gemini Exchange, BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Alphabit.Fund and many others.

We asked them to comment on the possible future of the Bitcoin price and whether we should expect a victorious continuation of Bitcoin’s price rise to $3,000 and above.

Not to seal andrzej's desire to get everyone over to the Coindol.com site, I'll comment briefly on my favorite and least favorite of the ten reasons...what I think is most and least likely.

Most likely to impact the price of bitcoin: Legalization of bitcoin in Japan. Any government declaring "we like bitcoin, we see it as useful, we want people to be able to use it (with some regulation) freely" is a good thing for bitcoin. Full stop.


Least likely: Growth of alternative cryptocurrencies. ICOs don't help bitcoin or the existing, stable alternative cryptocurrencies in existence. First, the existence of a bunch of alts doesn't lend credibility to the idea of bitcoin, instead it leads people to believe cryptocurrency (and bitcoin) is just a "techy fad". Second, the existence of alternative cryptocurrencies will take funds away from bitcoin by those who think they can still make a mint, as many have on bitcoin, on a new currency.

Right now, I think the elephant in the room wrt the price of Bitcoin depends on what happens to the network after Segwit2x. If it really has a big effect on fees and Tx times, there's probably a lot of money ready and waiting to pour in to fill the gap.
