You can transfer bitcoin to Ethereum anytime using https://shapeshift.io/#/coins, they have a great service i have used many times never with any problems.

If you already have an account with Coinbase then you should be able to do the conversion directly from your Coinbase account. I don't use Coinbase so can't advise you on how to do this but this link may help: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/e ... -ethereum-

Using a Web Browser

Go to the Buy/Sell page.
Set the currency to Ethereum.
Enter the amount in ETH or your local currency that you wish to buy.
Select your desired payment method.
Confirm the order is correct and click Buy Ethereum.

Using the iOS & Android Apps

Tap the menu icon near the top left of the screen to open the Navbar.
Select Buy from the Navbar.
Set the currency to Ethereum.
Enter the amount in ETH or your local currency that you wish to buy.
Select your desired payment method.
After reviewing your order, tap Buy Ethereum.

The "trick" is about the account you select to send BTC or ETH from and the wallet address you use to send that BTC or ETH to.

In Coinbase if you click on Send/Request menu and you can select which wallet account you want to send funds from and which address you want to send them to (along with how much). Obviously the "from" account is your Bitcoin or Ether wallet. Just make sure you input your correct destination wallet address and the Bitcoin or Ether that you're sending should convert to the currency of the destination wallet.
