Interesting read. I agree that we are near the maximum number of altcoins that the market will support. In 2017, to exist as a new currency, you must bring innovation to the table.

Yep. For sure the altcoins that are gonna appear in the next few months (or years?) are gonna be those altcoins that are hyped from the start then dies within a few months.
