Block size proposals; A guide to choosing your blocksize upgrade.

Thu May 25, 2017 8:15 pm

I created a new site that helps people understand the wilderness of the block size proposals.

blocksizeproposals.github.io

The aim is to cut through all the details and just show the high level approaches that we have.

Very nice job, Tom. Quite right on the additional fixes comment. We have one problem that requires urgent attention now and it would be foolhardy in the extreme to attempt to force in more than just the most critical requirement (block size limit increase) right now.

I would also add that any solution that does not give the ability for (at minimum) a doubling every year is probably destined to fail, as there will come a point where no more space is available for the on ramping of new users without the raw capacity for organic growth. Crippling code with unnecessary limitations is something I thought we only saw in the proprietary software world.
