Need btc help

Mon May 22, 2017 9:15 pm

Hello,
I mhave an interesting issue. Around 12 years ago or right when Bitcoin was new I had a few Bitcoins. Like maybe 20. I had some from some surveys. I deposited a few for a gambling site. I tried to spend them elsewhere but nobody took it at the time. Now life moved on and I see that HOLY COW, those might be worth a couple dollars. What is the best way to research this? I don't even have the same email anymore?

Bitcoin was invented in 2008, so it's impossible to have had any 20 yrs ago! :)

However even if you did have some after 2008 and didn't keep the private key (works like a password), chances are you don't have access to them anymore. And if you used a Bitcoin service and kept them on their site chances are you don't have them anymore because many Bitcoin services from the early days aren't around anymore.

Couple of dollars!? They're like 2100 USD now. I think your best bet as of now is to remember what gambling site you deposited them to, since I assume you now don't have the computer you used since it's 12 years ago like you said.
