Multibit - worried!

Sat May 13, 2017 9:38 pm

Hi,

I am a complete noob who bought some bitcoin a few years ago without really understanding it!

I have the "transaction not confirmed" issue which i understand is due to the fee not being high enough. I have the Multibit Classic 0.5.18 wallet which doesn't allow the changing of fees.

So i installed Multibit HD and restored my wallet using my wallet words and passwords. Left it to synchronize and : zero balance.
So i went back to my MB Classic wallet and reset the transactions. Balance is as expected.

I really don't understand what i can do to get these 1.4 bitcoins out of my wallet. I thought they'd just appear in my Multibit HD wallet and that would solve the problem.

Any help welcome. I promised my wife that we'd use the bitcoin to pay for a new bathroom since the price is enough to do this. And now she is disappointed that i have no idea what i am doing :-).

Can you show us the transaction ID?
I wouldn't stress about it though because if it doesn't receive any confirmations in the next few days it will just drop off the network and back to the address you sent them from.

Once the btc has reverted back to your sending address then just resend it to where you want it to go with a good size fee, something around 280 sat per byte should be sufficient for the transaction to get into the next block.

Regarding the bitcoins not showing up in your new multibit HD wallet it could be that you have not imported all the private keys to your new wallet.
