Created Bitcoin Account in 2011/Access Question

Sat May 13, 2017 6:50 pm

This is going to sound strange, however back in 2011 or so, someone told me to create a Bitcoin account since back then, when you created a new account, you were given a very small, token amount of Bitcoin as a registrant.

I am wondering if anyone knows how to access my account or after a period of time, it may have been simply deleted.

Thanks in advance.

It would never be deleted. Do you still have the same computer or harddrive?

This sounds like you created an account with an online company or service rather than creating your own Bitcoin wallet as you mention receiving a small amount of BTC when registering; the only way to access such an account would be to contact the company or service in question.

The only way to access a Bitcoin wallet that you had on your computer back in 2011 is if you still have the hard drive which the wallet was stored on, or if you held a backup copy of the wallet.dat file elsewhere.
