who is this Roger Ver guy? I've read some bad information about him:

• Roger Ver is a politician

You have definitely come to the right place to ask this question, Roger Ver owns the bitcoin.com domain name and therfore this forum.

Another good place to look if you want to find information on a know person is to check Wikipedia, here is the link to Roger's page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Ver

When looking into a company or person always make sure to look at the whole picture and don't just focus on the "headline" type of material put out by the media to suck you in.

Did Roger go to prison, yes but the charges and sentence far outweighed the alleged crime. Roger may correct me on this but i believe basically he was selling a explosive type product that farmers everywhere liked because it gave them a way to clear out pests without needing to spray chemicals.
Anyway he was definitely not the only person selling this product yet I think he was the only one charged or jailed over it, he was most likely singled out because of his political views.

I haven't heard the one about him being a politician but I did hear the conspiracy theory from the tin foil hat crew about him working for the CIA, lol

When you look at the whole picture then you will see that Roger has not only done a lot for bitcoin but he has done a lot for people from all walks of life, his a man who stands up for what he believes in.
I can see no sense why Roger would want bitcoin to fail as a lot have claimed, it makes no sense to me.
He was the first ever person to ever invest in bitcoin start-ups, has run and still does run multiple bitcoin related sites and promotes bitcoin at every turn.
This man lives and breaths bitcoin and is an asset to the community.

It's an excellent introductory documentary to Bitcoin's use cases and I suppose the ideology behind it.

If you only watch two minutes of this documentary, watch the last two - it shows Roger (Ver) demonstrating his passion for Bitcoin, and more importantly, why he has such a passion for it:

Anyone that can say Roger is anything other than a proponent of a solid future for Bitcoin after watching that video clearly doesn't understand the driving force behind his involvement in Bitcoin and - outside of my own relationship with him - it was those 2 minutes of footage that showed my respect of him as a legitimate, genuine and morally just human being was very well placed indeed.

Anyone that believes so strongly in Bitcoin's ability to right the wrongs in this world - and that demonstrates the economic awareness and knowledge running parallel to that and to help achieve righting those wrongs - is a person who should receive unwavering support. Bitcoin is the future, but we can only get it there with the right intentions behind it.
