It certainly is real, I had 5600 karma from /r/bitcoin but only recently realised I was shadowbanned, anyone else might want to check themselves if they are too, otherwise you would be wasting your time posting. Respectable sites like google or reddit shouldn't practice shadow banning because its a deceptive practice that is essentially a deliberate attempt of wasting its users time, at the least you should be notified.

the only reason I have banned anyone so far is because the were spamming every board with posts about abortion drugs and how to take good care of hardwood floors, absolutely nothing to do with bitcoin.

Of course the censorship is real. I've been permabanned with over 6,000 link karma and
13,000 comment karma only from /r/bitcoin. All I did was pointing out the censorship and that happened before the new set of rules.

I had 30K /r/bitcoin karma. It's just pathetic.

If you check /r/bitcoinxt most of the reasonable voices from /r/bitcoin migrated there.
