I was recently looking into this Qtum blockchain project and saw that it has large backers like Roger Ver, Anthony DiLorio, Earlz, and many other familiar names in the crypto space.
I read some scam accusations in the bitcointalk thread, and now there's an article here discussing how Qtum co-founder Patrick (aka Steven) Dai previously embezzled/ran-off with supposedly ~200 bitcoins and a large stash of bitbay tokens from the BitBay ICO.

There's pretty substantial documentation in the Qtum thread showing Patrick Dai has operated under numerous aliases over the past few years, with testimonials from the original BitBay group that says they have all the proof and chat logs to prove it. This is definitely a rocky start to the Qtum project. That said, I know that Earlz is one of the best cryptocurrency experts in the space. But now, I don't know who to trust on this project if this is the case.

How do you think this controversy around Patrick (aka. Steven) Dai will affect the project now?
