Interview with Bitcoin Core developer Jonas Schnelli

Tue Feb 21, 2017 8:42 pm

This is a recent interview with Jonas Schnelli in a new Bitcoin Core series devoted to humanizing many of the developers behind Bitcoin Core, in an effort to break through the very toxic online discussions.

I really enjoyed this interview and encourage people to listen to it. In it, he discusses one of the biggest problems with Bitcoin user friendliness, which is private key security. While many people want Bitcoin to be used in the mainstream, the reality is that there is a tremendous amount of user education required for understanding just the aspect of private key security.

He also discusses why he got into Bitcoin, his own spirituality practice and life-work balance, and the challenges he sees for Bitcoin.

I am looking forward to more interviews with the Bitcoin Core developers, and hope that Andrew Stone and some other folks from BU can also be interviewed in this series.
