Send me the github repo, or even better, post it publicly. I would like to see what I can do.

What's your approach on this? As far as I know, the only form of live notification that bitcoin.com gives out is through email. (Please correct me if i'm wrong)

My idea would be simply to have a mail skimmer that will, when notified, navigate to the post and send the bitcoin. Keep in mind that you will have to allow the bot to keep each user's balances, meaning you will have to handle funds. When the bot navigates to the page, it would be a simple DOM scrape to get the bitcoin address of the person in question, and the transfer of funds.

But why do this, when bitcoin.com has already implemented a damn fine bitcoin qr and bitcoin address link at the side of every single post?

Great idea, that would add quite a cool new feature to the forum. I would love to be able to tip people for useful information.

How exactly will Bitcoin be sent? Where will it be stored?

It does sound like a cool idea but I agree with Decoded, we already have the QR code to members addresses next to all of their posts so if someone wanted to tip them they could just tap the QR code and send the tip.

The advantage I can see of a tipping bot is that it would most likely notify the receiver that they have received a tip.

Just a request -

Could the mods turn it down a little on pinning posts? Threads like this shouldn't really be pinned, and there honestly should only be two or so pinned posts max on a board. If you check out the Bitcoin section, you will see much more than two.

I get it that you want your posts to be at the top and have high visibility, but other users have to bump their posts just to get below yours. The only things that should be pinned are notices and very important discussions.

If you're really that desperate to be pinned, have one thread pinned that redirects to others.
