Help with hash speed?

Tue Feb 07, 2017 3:32 pm

Hello. I am currently running a monerod node on a VPS that's run by Linux Ubuntu 16.04. I connect to it through Putty. It's synced, wallet's set up and connected to it as well. The CPU of the server is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.00GHz

I have already consulted ./monerod help, which tells me to mine with command start_mining addr [threads]

But no matter what number I put on [threads], it keeps mining at 6 H/s, net hash 12.62 MH/s, v1, up to date

What am I then supposed to do to increase hash speed?!

Never mined Monero before, but assuming it's like mining Bitcoin....

I'd assume 6 hashes is your limit. Hashing is much more stable than a speed of say... File transfers. You may get slight variance, but your max speed would be 6 hashes.

If you want to increase your hashrate, you could increase intensity (not sure if that's still a thing or if it's automated now) or overclock your CPU.
