OpenDollar is based on eToken smart contract, built using Ethereum cryptocurrency network and Solidity programming language by Ambisafe.
It was created in July, 2016 and just started its active growth phase, now focused mostly in CIS region.
OD has a fixed supply of 50,000,000,000 OpenDollars. The entire amount is created at the moment of currency issuance deposited to the currency owner account. No more OpenDollars can be issued. This approach is also known as premine.
OpenDollar is distributing according to the very simple model - each new user of the IT products, where OD integrated in, issues 50 OD in the market and increases its market price. OpenDollar premined by users will be exchanging it to Bitcoin and Fiat currencies at pre­determined fixed rate. The rate is gradually increased as we get closer to the goal (a number of users in the it ecosystem).
